Why does the run-out need to be adjusted?
Only in this way can the RX high-performance reamers realize their full potential. Insufficient run-out will result in poor tool life, insufficient quality of the surface finish or a bore that is too large.
Can all materials be reamed?
In principle, yes.
Is it possible to use URMA RX without internal cooling?
Yes, with external cooling. However, in this case only about 50% of the Vc can be run. The service life is also shorter accordingly.
Do the RX inserts have to be tightened with a torque wrench?
For RX small Yes! ( A torque wrench is included in the scope of delivery.) For RX medium it is recommended but not mandatory.
What surface qualities can be achieved with RX?
This depends very much on the material and whether you are talking about the first cut or after a certain service life. Examples: material class N2 Ra 0.4µm (process reliable), P4 Ra 0.6µm (process reliable), K P4 Ra 0.8µm (process reliable).
What tolerances can be held with RX?
Under ideal conditions, we can achieve bore tolerances of 6µm.

Can the insert holder itself be shortened?
Yes, all cylindrical insert holders of RX small and RX medium can be shortened. Please note that our insert holders are hardened.
Does URMA also offer PCD reamers?
Yes, we can provide URMA RX medium and RM vario with PCD. In addition, we also offer special tools in PCD.
What are the delivery times for RX reamers?
The common H7 diameters are available from stock. Specific diameters or geometries have a regular delivery time of 5 weeks. If it has to be faster, we also offer an express line with 2 weeks delivery time (except for special coatings).
